Choose the matching search in CourtClick
If the app shows a Case Number search option
Select Case Number, enter the reference and complete the requested district details. Add the year when useful and available. Tap Find Case(s) For Me, then compare the court and parties in the matching results.
If the app shows the detailed case form
Enter the district, case type, number and year, plus at least one petitioner or respondent name. Select the court when requested. Tap Find Case For Me to search using those details.
If you have a CNR
Choose CNR Number and enter the full 16-character identifier. Some screens show one field; the detailed form splits the identifier into court code, court number, case number and year. Copy the reference carefully into the fields shown.
Import the match and activate tracking
Select the result that matches your court, reference and parties, then use Import Case. If access is locked, follow the subscription or case-credit action shown before opening the detailed case record.
What to keep beside you before searching
- The full court name and the state where the matter is registered.
- For an ordinary case reference: the case type, numeric portion and year.
- For the detailed form: a petitioner or respondent name and the case district.
- For CNR search: all 16 letters and numbers, without spaces or hyphens.
Why the form may look different
CourtClick chooses the available search screen for your selected case state. A state with the quick search screen offers By Name, Case Number, Lawyer Name and CNR Number. Other supported flows use the more detailed case form.
Do not assume that the same fields are required on both screens. For example, the single-field CNR search hides district and year, while the detailed case-number search needs additional information to identify the matter.
Check these details when no result appears
Recheck the selected state and the spelling or digits you entered. Keep the case type and year with an ordinary number, and check that you have not used a different proceeding’s reference. On the detailed form, add the required petitioner or respondent name.
If you have another identifier, try the corresponding option available in CourtClick. Use Support with your full court and case reference when you need help locating the matter.
After the first successful lookup
Importing the correct case means you can return to it from your case list. Activate tracking for the matter and review the available case status, hearing history, timeline and orders.
A case added to your list may still need a plan or eligible case credit to unlock tracking. Review the cases selected and the price and term shown before paying.
Frequently asked questions
Is a case number enough to find any case in India?
An ordinary number needs context such as the court, case type and year. In CourtClick, complete the fields shown for the selected case state and search method, then verify the parties in the result.
Can I paste a CNR into the Case Number field?
Choose CNR Number instead. Enter the complete identifier in the CNR field or its separate parts where the app provides them.
Why does CourtClick ask for a petitioner or respondent name?
The detailed case-number search requires at least one of those names along with the district, case type, number and year. The quick-search screen has its own fields, so follow the form displayed.
